Suitable for straightforward genetic counselling needs that do not require a complex clinical assessment.

Examples include:

• Reproductive carrier screening – discussing testing options, ordering screening, or discussing results where there are no significant/high-risk findings
• Comparing genetic screening reports for donor egg or donor sperm
• Discussion of previously completed genetic test results where no complex clinical assessment is required

Complex Clinical Assessment (Clinical Genetics)

$520 | Medicare rebate: $272.50
45–60 minutes

Suitable for more complex genetic or clinical concerns requiring a detailed assessment of personal and/or family history, clinical information and genetic risk.

Examples include:

• All prenatal genetic consultations
• Cancer risk assessments, including assessment of a personal or family history of cancer
• Complex genetic conditions or concerns requiring a detailed clinical assessment, i.e. Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, paediatric assessment for intellectual disability/autism.

Balance Payment is requested on the same day of appointment. Partners are bulk-billed. Please ensure their name is included on the referral to make this possible.

Please note that if an incorrect appointment classification is selected at the time of booking, we reserve the right to adjust the invoice amount following your appointment to reflect the appropriate fee. Additional charges may also apply where an appointment exceeds the allocated appointment time.

Cancellation policy:

• To help us provide timely care to all patients, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for any appointment cancellation or rescheduling.
• Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice (no-show), may incur a late cancellation or non-attendance fee.
• Please note that longer appointment times are reserved specifically for individual patients. Late cancellations and missed appointments can prevent other patients from accessing care when needed.
• We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain appointment availability for all patients.
